When you have received your renewal quote, if you do not wish to renew, you can opt out of the auto-renewal.
We understand there could be many reasons why you don't want to renew your insurance. 💙 So we’ve made it easy to opt out of renewal!
To do so,
Go to your dashboard
Click the pink renewal banner at the top of the screen.
At the bottom of the page click the grey link that reads ‘I do not want to renew’.
Then click ‘continue’ on the popup box that appears.
Before you go, we’d love to help you find the best fit for your pet’s needs.
There are a couple of flexible options we can offer to make sure you’re still protected—just in a way that works better for you:
🪙 Downgrade to a lower cover level
Looking to reduce your monthly premium? If your policy has an annual cover limit above £4,000, you can reduce it to lower your monthly premium—while still keeping Napo’s full support, just with a smaller safety net.
This option keeps you covered for ongoing conditions that are already approved under your current policy, so your pet’s existing health issues will still be looked after. You can make this change at any time, starting 30 days before your renewal date and up until the day before, through your Dashboard here. Just reach out to us support@napo.pet if you don’t see this option.
Renewing your current policy—even with a downgrade—gives you peace of mind that any symptoms, treatment, medication, or advice you've received since your original start date (after the initial 10-day waiting period) will continue to be covered.
🆕 Switch to a new, lower-priced policy
You might find that starting a brand-new policy is more cost-effective.
New policies often cost less because they carry less risk for insurers. However, it’s important to know this won’t cover any existing or ongoing conditions.
To make the switch easier, we’ll waive the standard waiting period as long as your new policy starts the day your current one ends—something many insurers don’t offer.
If you'd like to go ahead with a new policy, just let us know before your current policy ends so we can make sure there’s no gap in cover 💙
💙 Why staying covered matters
We understand insurance prices can rise at renewal—that’s because your pet’s risk profile changes over time, and premiums adjust to reflect that. It’s not just numbers; it’s to make sure we can be there when it really counts.
At Napo, we’ve proudly supported countless pet parents through tough times—especially those who chose to stay covered. Like:
