We regrettably can't insure some excluded breeds of dog and cat yet

Updated over 7 months ago

Our ambition is to offer a policy to every breed of dog and cat. There's still a few breeds we don't offer cover for just yet, but we aim to reduce this list over time. Here's an up-to-date list.

We don’t cover these breeds and any mixes including them:

  • Akita

  • Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog

  • American Bandogge (Bandog)

  • American Bulldog

  • American Bullies in Micro and Pocket sizes

  • American Staffordshire Bull Terrier

We're proud to now cover the following dog breeds for healthcare, although we still can't cover them for Third Party Liability 🎉

  • American XL Bullies with a certificate of exemption from the Dangerous Dog Act 1991

  • Dogs who have been typed as an American XL Bully in their certificate of exemption

We don't cover these cat breeds:

  • Any cats who are a hybrid between a wild cat (Serval or Savannah) and a domestic cat (also known as F1 cats)

  • Asian Leopard Cats and any crossbreeds of Asian Leopard Cats

  • Any breed that isn’t an option to select when you buy your policy.
