Do you cover pets used for breeding?
Updated over a month ago

We don't currently offer cover for pets that have been used as a breeding pet who have been re-homed by a breeder or have been bred more than once.

If your pet has been bred from once in the past, is no longer being used for breeding and is not a retired breeding pet, we can offer cover.

If your pet has a single litter after the start of your policy and has not been bred from before this will not affect your cover.

However, please note that we do not cover claims that are as a result or complication of pregnancy or breeding, or any pre-existing conditions as outlined in our policy wording document.

Examples of claims we don't cover include c-sections, pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, mastitis, retained placenta, metritis, and dystocia.
