Can I change my pet's breed?

If you think we have your lovely pet’s breed incorrect on their policy, please reach out to us on email or chat and ask to speak to a person. One of our Champions will be able to amend this for you.

Here at Napo, we classify breeds in the following way:

  • Purebreed: If both parents are the same breed

  • Crossbred: If the pet is a mix of 2 breeds e.g. Cockerspaniel and Poodle = Cockapoo which is a crossbreed

  • Mongrel: If your pet is a mix of more than 2 breeds. e.g. A Cavapoo and a labrador would be a Mongrel.

If you aren't sure which description fits your pet, the best thing to do is check what your vets notes and their original vaccination cards state and go by that as we will check these notes if you were to submit a claim in the future and the details will need to match.
