What you should do if your breed isn't on our list

Updated over a month ago

Our ambition is to offer a policy to every breed of dog and cat. There's still a few breeds we don't offer cover for just yet, but we aim to cover more over time.

Here's what to do;

  1. Firstly, let's make sure that your lovely pet is not on our excluded breeds list. You can find it here.

  2. If your pet has been typed as an XL Bully by the government, get a quote as a pedigree XL Bully even if they're technically a mixed breed.

  3. If your pet is a crossbreed, please check if their specific crossbreed is available on our list of breeds*. For example, we have labradoodles listed on our breed list. If it’s available then select ‘Pedigree’ and then ‘Labradoodle’.

  4. If your pet’s crossbreed isn’t listed on with us (e.g. Maltipoo, Cavachon, Springador) please select 'Cross'. You can select either of the 2 breeds as your 'main breed' as long as it matches your vets' records. 😊

  5. If your pet is a mongrel / mixed breed: If your pet is a mix of more than 2 breeds. e.g. A Cavapoo and a labrador would be a Mongrel.

  6. If your pet isn't an excluded breed and is a new/rare breed that isn't on our list, please message us. We'll work to get the breed added to either our excluded or covered breeds list in the future.

Please be careful when selecting your breed, if you add a breed that isn't correct, sadly, you run the risk of your policy voided. It's better safe than sorry so contact us if in doubt, we're here to help.
