My pet has passed away. How do I claim for their purchase price?

We’re so sorry to hear your sweet pet has passed away. 💔

To handle cancelling the policy and other admin, please contact us via email or chat to get one of our Champions to do this. It’s important we do this for you to ensure all is setup correctly for you to claim.

To submit a claim for your pet's purchase price, follow these steps below:

  1. Go to your Napo dashboard.

  2. Go to 'Policies' on the left menu.

  3. If their policy is active, click on this.

  4. If their policy has already been cancelled, then select 'Previous policies'.

  5. Go to their most recent policy.

  6. Select 'Claim for Pet’s Name' and then 'Burial or purchase price'.

Please note in order to claim for your pet’s purchase price, you must meet the following terms:

  • Your pet must be younger than 9 years old.

  • You must provide us with a statement from your vet stating the date and cause of death.

  • If your pet is a pedigree breed, we require you to send us a copy of the original breed club registration documents, including the pedigree certificate, and original receipt.

  • If you don’t have a receipt but can provide reasonable evidence that they were purchased, then we would look to cover the market value of your pet when they passed.
