How to keep my premium cost down or downgrade/change cover level?

Updated over a week ago

At Napo, we understand that circumstances change and sometimes that means adjusting your pet’s insurance to fit your budget. We’re here to help you make informed choices, and we promise to keep things simple and transparent.

What are my options to reduce my cost?

You can reduce your policy to a lower cover limit, this means the maximum amount we’d pay would go down for the policy year, but your monthly payments will be lower too.

Our cover levels are;

£16000 vet fees cover per policy year

£12000 vet fees cover per policy year

£8000 vet fees cover per policy year

£4000 vet fees cover per policy year

The important information to keep in mind is that should you wish to upgrade next year (upgrades can only be done at renewal), please note that any condition that showed signs or symptoms, your pet had any treatment, medication or advice under the lower cover level, can only be paid up to the lower cover limit - if the condition itself is covered by us - and not the upgraded cover limit. That’s because insurance is for the unexpected and upgrading for a condition known won’t increase the limit for that condition.

When can I make changes?

You can make reduce your cover at any time during your policy as long as you haven’t already claimed for the amount you are looking to downgrade to. We don’t charge any admin fees to adjust your cover.

If you’re in the middle of a claim, some changes might not apply straight away but we’ll walk you through your options.

How do I make a change?

The fastest way is to:

  • 💬 Chat with us via our chat function which you can find at the bottom right

  • 📧 Email us at support@napo.pet

We’ll explain the impact of each option before anything changes, so you stay in control.
