Do you cover complementary therapy treatments?
Updated over a month ago

Yes, we do! We cover Complementary therapy treatment as long as they aren’t pre-existing, they haven’t happened in the waiting period, they have been recommended by a vet and carried out by a vet or one of the following approved specialists:

  • Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy (ACPAT)

  • Canine Hydrotherapy Association (CHA)

  • Institute of Registered Veterinary and Animal Physiotherapists (IRVAP)

  • International Association of Animal Therapists (IAAT)

  • International Veterinary Chiropractic Association (IVCA)

  • McTimoney Chiropractic Association

  • National Association of Registered Canine Hydrotherapists (NARCH)

  • National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists (NAVP)

  • Register of Animal Musculoskeletal Practitioners (RAMP)*

Complementary treatments we cover:

  • Acupuncture

  • Physiotherapy (including Laser, Pulsed Magnetic Field, Shock Wave therapies)

  • Chiropractic manipulation

  • Herbal medicine

  • Homeopathy

  • Hydrotherapy and osteopathy treatments

Complementary treatment cover is an inner limit of your total vet fee cover limit. The limit for complementary therapy varies depending on which cover level you select.

So, if you were to have a successful claim of £500 for complementary treatment with a £4,000 policy, you would have £3,500 left of the policy limit for the rest of your policy year.

To find out how much you can claim for, head over to your dashboard.

*These therapists have been added to our approved specialists list as of 21st November 2024. This applies only to claims that have not received outcome before November 21st 2024. This does not apply to any previously submitted claims where the outcome has already been given and the claim has been declined due to these therapists not being included.
