If you purchased your policy or renewed your policy after 19:29 GMT on 07/12/2023, the following terms apply to your policy;

At Napo, we want to ensure that your pet is well-protected. This is why we have updated our policy to reflect this. If you're switching over to Napo from another pet insurance company, you can benefit from immediate coverage without any waiting period (see below for how). However, if it's the start of a new policy and you aren’t switching from another insurer, there's a short waiting period for certain conditions which means that you won’t be able to claim for any accidents happening within the first 24 hours of your policy start date and you won’t be able to claim for any other conditions which happen within the first 10 days of your policy start date.

  • You can only claim for accidents that happen after the first 24 hours of your policy start date

  • You can only claim for illnesses that first signs or symptoms after the first 10 days of your policy

  • You can only claim for illness-related dental treatment that first shows signs or symptoms after the first 10 days of your policy start date

  • You can only claim for complementary treatment that occurs or first show signs or symptoms after the first 10 days of your policy start date

  • For all other sections of cover, you can only claim for events that happen after the first 10 days of your policy start date

If you’re switching from another insurer, and your pet has been continuously insured up to your start date with Napo without any gaps, no waiting period applies! For this, we’ll ask you to provide documentation of your previous insurance, including the cancellation date, should you need to claim and that’s it ☺️

  • When purchasing your Napo insurance, please note that pre-existing conditions won’t be covered. This includes any subsequent/future treatments for the same event.

If you purchased your policy or renewed your policy before 19:29 GMT on 07/12/2023, then the following terms apply to your policy;

The first 10 days of your policy start date is the waiting period.

This means that you won't be able to claim for any accidents that happen in the first 24 hours of your policy start date and for anything else that happens in the first 10 days of your policy start date.
